Once again, friends of the wild turkey gathered in support of conservation of this great bird.

On, Saturday, March 1, 2025, friends, family, and members of the New River Longbeards Chapter, NWTF gathered at our new venue, Sturgeon City, Jacksonville, NC, to EAT, DRINK, AND BE MERRY!

. Members and guests enjoyed good food, drinks, games, and camaradarie to make our 2025 event a success.

The 2025 Hunting Heritage Banquet, held on March 1, was a great success and went off without a hitch. off without a hitch due to the great work our committee put into preparations for this event. Setup at the venue started at Noon and was completed by 3:30. Everything looked great!

This year, the table arrangment was very different than in the past as we had a new venue. The Sturgeon City Hall
was longer and more narrow than the Swansboro Rotary hall. This facility featured 3 large screens for us to project slides of member activitie, sponsors and donors.

Once again, Moore's Olde Tyme Barbeque catered the event with Fried Chicken, Shrimp, BBQ, Hush Puppies, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, drinks and desert. . Everyone seemed to enjoy and there was plenty left over

With almost 20 guns offered in various games and as sponsor gifts, the services of Eastern Outfitters came to the rescue providing their gun transfer services at no charge! THANK YOU MUCHO!!!

Once all our guests had arrived and found their tables, it was time to formally start the evening.

John Sackett, the chapter president started the evening with some
announcements, thank yous, and recognition of corporate sponsors.

Several games of chance provided ample opportunty for our guests to win some great prizes and some special guns. o
